Though Fort Lauderdale has long been associated with Spring Break, it is also a city with an incredibly vibrant art scene, with an impressive array of galleries and museums. This 10,000 sq. ft. project was for great clients - our fifth project with them - who also happen to be enthusiastic art collectors…so we made good fun of making the artworks live within the space with an almost gallery-like feel.

What we appreciated most was the level of trust they placed in our ideas. We were also excited to have the opportunity to create custom NESTA MADE doors opening into the primary suite, which instilled in us extra pride in the project. The suite itself was so magnificent that we felt it required doors that allowed for the feeling of a truly grand and dramatic entrance.

Elementary metals and matte wood surfaces made for a clean and contemporary feel, while bold pops of color - especially blues - enlivened spaces where it felt right to do so.

Notably successfully realized, we felt, were the custom-made wine vault, and a split staircase which is set against particularly captivating artworks by Sophie Taeuber-Arp and the late French feminist-provocateur Niki de Saint Phalle.

“This was such a successful expression of the couple and their young family.”
